Brasov
Brasov is a charming city located in the center of Romania; it is located 166 km from Bucharest. The city was founded in 1211 and is surrounded on three sides by mountains; Brasov is also an important cultural centre of the country which has been beautifully restored, also Brasov is quiet rich in natural beauty too. Brasov serves as an access hub for the local ski field named Poiana-Brasov also the city plays host to Golden Stag (Cerbul de Aur) international music festival.

The Black Church
One of the most famous landmarks in Brasov is the Black Church; the church was built between 1385 and 1477. the name was given after a fire broke out in the town which blackened the walls of the church in 1689.

Old Town
The Old Town includes the Black Church, the Council Square (Piata Sfatului), this is the place where it is that the legendary Pied Piper led the children of Hamlin and many other historic buildings and museums, a stroll around here and one can explore medieval buildings in different architectural styles.

Historic Churches
Brasov also has many interesting and beautiful churches other than the Black Church, some best ones being Franciscan Monastery, Saint Peter and Paul Roman-Catholic Cathedral, Romanian Orthodox Cathedral, Saint Bartholomew Church and Saint Martin Church.

Fortress
Brasov was a fortified city and hence is surround by some great forts like the Rupea fortress (which is a UNESCO world heritage site), Feldioara fortress, Hoghiz with several historical buildings, Fagaras fortress, Racos fortress, Budila fortress, Sambata de Sus fortress.
