Tromso

Tromsø or Tromso in English is a city in the very northernmost part of Norway; it is a pleasant city by mountains and islands and is as nicknamed ‘the Paris of the North’. Tromso is one of the best places to view the spectacular Northern Lights in winter and is located almost 350 km north of the Arctic Circle. The city offers great outdoor activities like sea or inland fishing, whale safaris, scuba diving, skiing, hiking, mountain climbing, biking, swimming, markets, visiting The Arctic Alpine Botanic Garden and more.

Tromso is within the aurora belt and hence a good destination to watch the natural light phenomenon in the night sky known as The Aurora Borealis or the Northern Lights, the best time of the year to watch the phenomenon is early October and mid March, also there is The Northern Lights Planetarium here.

The Arctic Cathedral or the Ishavskatedralen is the city's most famous and photographed landmark, it is a modern church from 1965 and has unique architecture. The cathedral’s stained-glass windows are among the largest in Europe.
