Oslo

Oslo is the capital and the largest city of Norway, the city was called Christiania until 1924 it was renamed to Oslo on January 1st 1925. It is believed that Oslo was founded in 1048, by the king Harald Hardråde. Oslo is a charming city with beautiful mix of old and new architecture and loads of attractions for visitors like parks, museums, churches and other beautiful places.

The Royal Palace is located at the end of KarlJohans gate; it was built in the first half of the 19th century as a residence for Charles III a Norwegian and Swedish king.

Oslo Cathedral is located at Stortorvet square north between Kirkegata and Dronningens gate, the construction of the cathedral finished in 1697 and the cathedral was formerly known as the Our Savior's Church.

Kirkeristen is a market in Oslo, the market was built from 1841 to 1858 around the Cathedral by architect Grosch, today visitors can shop for handicrafts and antiques here also there are many cafes and restaurants here.

The Opera house is situated close to the central station and the monument is a great example of beautiful modern architecture. The construction of Opera house was finished in 2007 and was opened by King Harald V of Norway on 12 April 2008. The Oslo Opera House is home to The Norwegian National Opera and Ballet, and the national opera theatre in Norway.

The Storting building’s is the home to the Norwegian parliament, the construction was completed in 1866 and the building was designed by the Swedish architect Emil Victor Langlet.
