Kuala Lumpur
A multiracial city Kuala Lumpur or more commonly referred as KL is the Capital city of Malaysia. The city is the mix of Chinese, Malays, Indian Chettiars, and Indian Muslims people spread in different areas of the city. The town was developed for its tin mines in the British rule. The country got its independence from British in 1957. The city suffered through two world wars, State of Emergency and the rubber and tin commodity crash. Today KL boasts of having the second tallest building in the world. The city today is a heaven for shoppers into its huge shopping malls. While the city has changed into a prosperous modern metropolis, it also has a traditional touch to it through its old historical monuments and calm closeness to the natural spaces. The city presents its vivid culture to the visitors.

Petronas Twin Towers
Constructed 1992-1998, The Petronas Twin Towers built between 1992 and 1998 were the World’s tallest towers between years 1998 and 2004. Now the towers are rated second tallest to the Taipei 101 building in Taiwan. The beauty of the towers and the town around could be enjoyed from one of the highest suspended bridges – Skybridge at the towers. In fact, Skybridge is the highest point that the visitors can go up to over the towers.

Kuala Lumpur Tower
Constructed 1991-1995, constructed between 1991 and 1995 the KL Tower or Menara Kuala Lumpur are used mainly as antenna for telecommunication and broadcasting transmissions. The tower is the fifth tallest in the world today with elevators and stairs to go to the revolving restaurant on the upper area. There are yearly races at the KL tower of reaching to the top through stairs. The tower is used as observatory to watch the moon during the Muslim festivals and at the beginning of the holy month of Ramdhan. The Tower is designed also with beautiful designs reflecting Malaysian Islamic culture.

Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre
The KL Convention Centre or KLCC is an important part of the KL city and is a major convention and exhibition centre there. The centre is spread over 100 acres and is as good as a city itself which includes, Petronas Twin Towers and KLCC Park as major attractions there. The centre is made for hosting international standard events like exhibitions, seminars, conventions, conferences and entertainment events.

Genting Theme Park
Situated 2000 meters above sea level with 40 rides The Genting Theme Park is a major attraction in Kuala Lumpur. Apart from the roller coaster ride, tube drops, flight simulator and splash pool like fast paced entertainment; you can also enjoy the tasty food at the restaurants inside the park. If you enjoy shopping, The First World Plaza is available with fashion accessories and modern, trendy things selling for you. There is a Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Museum right inside the plaza. You can also find the Malaysia’s only licensed casino – Casino de Genting. You can visit the concert hall – Arena of Stars in the plaza which has a history of having a wide range of programs right from magic shows to opera and pop singers shows.

Berjaya Hills
A perfect gateway for the nature lovers, Berjaya hills offers you a range of recreational activities and cultural attractions. A lovely French village – just out of photographs – Colmar Tropicale welcomes your taste buds with its delicious pizza and pastries or with its fine French cuisine. You can also eventually enjoy street performances of the artists here. You can also enjoy a botanical garden with a lovely walkway to take a lazy walk in the forest. You will get a chance to view experiments done on apples, pears and also will find here seven different species of strawberries. Around 200 rabbits run along the Rabbit park on the hills, which is a sight to enjoy along with a lot of fun activities in this park.

Lost World of Tambun
The Lost World is a water theme park and the latest attraction in KL. You will find an adventure river floating you along different architectural landscapes in the park. This river also has a wave generator so your ride gets exciting even more. Tubed Raiders would toss and turn you as you crash down in high speed through the large tubes in the water. After such fun filled high speed rides, just relax in the 100 % natural hot water springs, this water also has healing properties.

Little India & Brickfields
If you take a walk along Masjid India Street, you will get a feel of walking through Indian roads. This area in KL is full of traditional Indian shops selling Indian merchandise like colorful Saris and dresses and Indian music and movies. While you listen to the blasting Indian music enjoy the traditional Indian food and sip at the Indian tea.

Kampung Baru
Like you enjoy the Indian feel in little India, you see the authentic Malaysia when you visit Kampung Baru. This is the oldest Malay residential area in KL. You find traditional Malaysian wooden houses in this area. This area was founded in 1899 and offers a culture completely contrasting to the modern KL seen at other places. The Pasar Minggu, or Sunday market gives you a complete Malay experience of shopping the traditional jewellery and clothes as well as handicrafts and you also enjoy the Malay food here.

Batu Caves
Batu Caves situated in the north of KL is a religious place of Hindus. The caves have 272 steps leading to it in the limestone mound where the caves are located. Sunlight filters through the opening in the roof making the caves look mysterious and charming. As you walk a little up from these caves, you reach to the Dark Cave. But this cave is not completely open for visitors. Due to its natural sources like a range of plants and trees and also bats, snakes and spiders found in this area.

National Museum
Malaysia’s most important museum is The National Museum built in 1963 in Kuala Lumpur. The building reflects a traditional Malay architecture as well as modern structure design. Just at the entrance an original old railway engine and some other old vehicles welcome you. In the two wings of the museum various exhibitions of historical items, cultural things and handicrafts, some old times weapons and currencies as well as galleries of special plants and flowers are spread over. The museum also hosts educational shows and exhibitions often.

National Mosque
The National Mosque in KL is an example of a traditional mosque with Islamic art and calligraphy into modern construal design. This beautiful mosque with an umbrella like blue tinged roof was opened in 1965. The visitors need to enter barefoot inside the mosque.

Thean Hou Temple
One of the oldest temples in Southeast Asia is The Thean Hou Temple in KL. This beautifully decorated temple is based on the top of the hill. The temple has wonderful designs on the roof with magnificent wall paintings along its walls. This temple is popular among Chinese for its festivals and as wedding venue.
