Jakarta Old Town (Kota) also known as Old Jakarta is a small area in Jakarta, once the area was center of commerce and was dubbed "The Jewel of Asia" and "Queen of the East" in the 16th century. Even today the area is home of several important historical sites and buildings like the Luar Batang Mosque, Kota Intan Drawbridge, Chandranaya Building, The Port of Sunda Kelapa, Pasar Ikan (Fish Market) and more.

For the museum lovers there are a few here, some pretty decent too, here once can learn about the history and culture of the place, the few better ones are Museum Nasional, Museum Sasmita Loka, Museum Adam Malik, Museum ABRI (Military Museum) and the Textile Museum.
