Jakarta

Jakarta is located on the northwest coast of the Java Island and is the capital and the largest city of Indonesia. Jakarta Old Town (Kota) also known as Old Jakarta is a small area in Jakarta, once the area was center of commerce and was dubbed "The Jewel of Asia" and "Queen of the East" in the 16th century. Even today the area is home of several important historical sites and buildings like the Luar Batang Mosque, Kota Intan Drawbridge, Chandranaya Building, The Port of Sunda Kelapa, Pasar Ikan (Fish Market) and more.

Taman Mini Indonesia Indah

Taman Mini Indonesia Indah is a fascinating attraction, it is situated on 120 hectares of land in the east of Jakarta and is miniature Indonesia, the place depicts Indonesia's 27 provinces, it’s architecture, gardens and lakes.

Pasar Baru

Pasar Baru is also known as the New Market, the place is populated by immigrants mainly from India and beyond; the place has many a Hindu temples and more to explore.

Lubang Buaya

Lubang Buaya is located on the outskirts of Jakarta. The place features a monument and a museum; this is the site of the murder of seven army officers in 1965.

Museums

For the museum lovers there are a few here, some pretty decent too, here once can learn about the history and culture of the place, the few better ones are Museum Nasional, Museum Sasmita Loka, Museum Adam Malik, Museum ABRI (Military Museum) and the Textile Museum.
