Besakih Temple

On the slopes of Bali's Mount Agung sits Pura Besakih, widely referred to as the "Mother Temple" of Hinduism in Bali. It is the largest among over 20,000 temples & buildings present on the island. The temple is generally agreed to date back to prehistoric times in Bali. It is named for Naga Besukian -- the dragon-god believed in by pre-Hindu Balinese. Since the beginning of the 11th Century Besakih became the state temple of Bali. This Hindu temple is also known as Pura Besakih. This is the largest of the 11,000 or more temples of Bali. The temple is devoted to the Dragon God by the pre-Hindu Balinese. The temple has shrines halls and courtyards with alters devoted to different Gods. Massive number of devotees and tourists visit the temple every year.

Lake Batur

Know as Danau Batur in the local language, the creator of Mount Batur is the largest lake in the Bali & it is one of the major tourist attractions. It is the place for the travelers who wish to go for the sight seeing & capturing the amazing beauty of the island. It is charming enough to attract millions of visitors every year.

Lovina Beach

The northern tip of Bali is known for the charismatic beauty of Lovina beach. It is a fabulous site for watching a sunset & diving. A place where you can go to the in the middle of the night & listen to the music that the waves generate.

Sanur Beach

Sanur Beach is on the southeastern side of Bali. An excellent cite for sunrise & sunset. The ancient temples stand there, blessing every human being around. A remarkable piece of art is formed by the construction of those temples.

Gitgit Waterfall

The majestic looks of the cascades are bound to attract the attention of every tourist visiting the Gitgit Waterfall. It is situated on the main road from Denpasar to Singaraja. It is the highest cascade of the island.

Kintamani Volcano

Winding roads through picturesque rice terraces bring you the mountain village of Kintamani. From here, you get an excellent view of the volcano and Lake Batur. You can enjoy a performance of the Barong and Kris dance at the neighboring village of Batubulan. Be amazed by the skill of the local artisans as you watch them carve out beautiful sculptures out of silver and wood in an adjoining village.

Ubud Monkey Forest

On the southern outskirts of Ubud is a beautiful temple amidst lush greenery. The main attraction of this temple is that is home to hundreds of Balinese macaques. These monkeys are very friendly but are notorious for stealing food and sunglasses from tourists.

Taman Burung (Bird Park)

The bird park is located at Singapadu village on the northeast of Denpasar. The park houses more than 1000 exotic and rare birds from around the world, especially from the Indonesian archipelago. Manicured lawns and gardens with flowering tropical plants and shady trees add to the charm of the well maintained park. Macaws even pose on your hand for a photograph.

Tanah Lot

Tanah Lot is a magnificent temple on the ocean front. It is on the west coast of Bali, at the Beraban village. The temple has a large history associated with it and poisonous snakes inhibit the caves surrounding the temple to guard the temple. The temple can be accessed only during low tide, at high tide it looks like a large boat at sea. Sunset is the best time to visit the temple.

Museum Puri Lukisan

Museum Puri Lukisan is located in the cultural heartland of Bali, Ubud. The Museum displays an outstanding collection of paintings and wood carvings of the finest quality. Rudolf Bonnet, a Dutch painter, collected these pieces of art while he served as curator of the museum. The museum has played an important role in inspiring artisans and promoting Balinese art.
