Description

Amandari, set just outside the artistic capital of Ubud on an escarpment overlooking the Ayung River gorge offers insights into everyday Balinese life with cultural excursions, artistic performances, treks and cycling tours plus a relaxing spa. The Aman Bali Experience offers seven nights at a minimum of any two Amanresorts in Bali. For a shorter stay, please see the Aman Bali Break and Amandari's Classic Bali. From 15 July - 31 August, 2006, Amanresorts' resident tennis professional will be available for private tennis tuition at Amandari. See 2006 Tennis Calendar. In Travel + Leisure magazine’s June 2005 issue, Amandari is ranked first in Asia for Service among the World's Best Hotels for Service.
Reflecting the elements of Balinese culture, from its unique traditional beliefs and lifestyle to its remarkable artistry, Amandari embraces Bali's peaceful spirit and the mystical cycles of its ritual expression. In a three-night Classic Bali offer, discover what links the Balinese to the island's natural world and to each other. Apprehend the presence that inspired artists and travellers to name Bali the 'Island of the Gods'.

Amandari's Classic Bali offers three nights' accommodation, daily breakfast for two and a choice of six activities during the course of your stay. Enjoy the scenic Ayung River trek or bike trekking with a personal guide. Learn to prepare Balinese home cooking as taught to you in a Balinese kitchen. Have a one-hour Amandari massage using natural Balinese ingredients. Take a private Balinese dance lesson or visit a well-known local healer. Choose from tours to silverworks, a museum, craftsmen's studios or a private tour of local ceremonies.
Overlooking the Ayung River gorge and the verdant rice terraces beyond, Amandari is set in the village of Kedewatan on the outskirts of Bali's vibrant arts capital of Ubud. The resort's 30 suites are connected by river-stone walkways lined by high walls made of paras, a soft volcanic stone. Coconut wood and teak are used throughout, while the bamboo-frame roofs are heavy with the country smell of alang alang thatching. The open-air lobby is designed as a wantilan or village meeting place. The green-tiled swimming pool flows with a feeling of old Bali, its gently curving sweep mimicking the rice terraces that tumble below.
Discover with ease the diversity and cultural spirit of the “Island of the Gods” with Amanresorts’ three Balinese resorts – Amandari, Amankila and Amanusa. The unique settings of each can be enjoyed in a seven-night offer with guests' choice of stay between a minimum of two Amanresorts in Bali.

Included in the offer are airport and inter-hotel transfers and one specially tailored activity per day, chosen by each resort's manager to enhance the pleasures of your Bali experience.

Amandari is perched on an escarpment high above the Ayung River gorge, only five minutes from the art centre of Ubud. Designed as a walled Balinese village of 30 suites, with an additional three bedroom villa, the resort offers spectacular views of the river valley and terraced rice fields. Amandari or “peaceful spirits” reflects all the tranquillity, art and culture of Bali’s hill country.

Amankila or “peaceful hill” is a cliff-side beach resort with panoramic views of Lombok Strait and the verdant coastline of East Bali. The resort, with its three-tiered swimming pool and 41-metre Beach Club pool, has 34 suites linked by elevated walkways. Karangasem, the regency surrounding Amankila, may be Bali’s most traditional, with villages whose way of life has changed little over the centuries. Here guests will find echoes of Bali’s royal past.

Amanusa or “peaceful isle” and its 35, thatched-roof suites sit peacefully on a garden hillside in southern Bali with sweeping views of Nusa Dua and the Indian Ocean, the island of Nusa Penida on the horizon and further east, volcanic Mount Agung. The fairways of the Bali Golf and Country Club lie just below the resort, while Amanusa's own Beach Club - 10 bales each with plush mattresses and roll cushions - is set on one of Nusa Dua's top surf and swim beaches. Bali's main shopping areas are within a short drive of the resort.
