Cockburn Town (Grand Turk)

Cockburn Town is the capital city of the Turks and Caicos Islands, it is located on the Grand Turk Island, which is the largest island in the Turks Islands archipelago, Grand Turk is one of the main historical points of Turks and Caicos, tourism is the most prominent industry of the islands, Cockburn Town was founded in 1681. Grand Turk is a world famous diving destination, other attractions for visitors are museum, Lighthouse, Fire hill and the Hawks Nest Anchorage.

Diving

The main attraction of the island is diving because of the outstanding protected coral reef which has clear and calm waters.

Turks and Caicos National Museum

Turks and Caicos National Museum has artifacts which exhibits rich cultural and natural diversity of the islands also the oldest known shipwreck in the Western Hemisphere (dated around 1505)., the Molasses Reef Wreck, dated 1505, is exhibited in the Turks & Caicos National Museum
