Ashgabat

Ashgabat is the capital and the largest city of Turkmenistan, the city is situated between the Kara Kum desert and the Kopet Dag mountain range. Ashgabat is a modern city as due to the oil-boom the government had the money to spend on the city, for visitors there are many an attractions many of them are rather new others are the Skobelev Square, an old fortress, carpet factories, Lenin Monument and more.

Museums

Ashgabat has a rich history and culture hence there are few good museums, especially the Turkmen Carpet Museum it has the largest carpet in the world (Tekke Bukhara) on display, also there is Turkmenistan History Museum and more.
