It can be very well explored by traditional means of transport like tuk-tuk or even on foot. It is also worth visiting the Ko Pu island which is a small isolated island located off Laem Sai.

Phuket Aquarium is a small place but worth visiting for perceiving hundreds of exotic and colorful marine species found in sea around Phuket. It is located at Cape Phanwa, southeastern most end of the island. This destination proves very appealing for people interested in diving as it offers good introductory lessons about the marine life found in the waters around Phuket. The current highlight of this aquarium is the 10 meter long underwater glass tunnel which is very thrilling.

 

 

Wat Chalong

Wat Chalong or Wat Chai Tararam is located about 8 kilometers from the city. It was built in 1837 and is the most renowned temple of Phuket. It is the house of the famous monk Luang Po Cham who helped the locals fight the Ang Yi rebellion during the reign of King Rama V in 1876. the main attraction of this temple is the 61.4 meter high chedi having the Phra Borom Sareerikatat relic, a piece of the Lord Buddha's bones brought right from Sri Lanka. It is a blend of southern, central and northeastern architectural fashion and is the first in this region to house the holy Buddha's relic. This makes the temple a extremely inspiring place for a visit.

 

 

Patong Beach

Also known as Hat Patong it is the most developed and, busiest resort area with great concentration of bars, restaurants and shops. It is the most visited and most happening beach of Phuket, located at about 15 kilometers from the city. It is a 3km long vibrant beach with white sand and clear water. It is the best place for having fun and entertainment. It provides superb leisure activities and energetic night time amusement.
