Pretoria

Pretoria is the national capital of South Africa; the city is located 50 kilometers north of Johannesburg in the northern part of Gauteng Province. Pretoria has a laid back atmosphere and is just half an hour away from Johannesburg. Pretoria is sometimes known as Tshwane, it is one of the three capitals of South Africa the other two are Cape Town, the legislative capital, and Bloemfontein, the judicial capital.

Pretoria has some good museums and monuments like the Correctional Services Museum, Melrose House Museum, National Cultural History Museum, Pioneer Museum, Sammy Marks Museum, Transvaal Museum, Voortrekker Monument and Fort Scanskop, Willem Prinsloo Agricultural Museum and the Kruger House Museum.

Gardens

For wildlife and nature lovers there is the Pretoria Botanical Gardens and the National Zoological Gardens (The Zoo), both places are fascinating. The national zoological garden has an aquarium and s reptile park.

Church Square

Church Square is the focal point in Pretoria, it is the historic city centre, the place is surrounded by many a historic buildings like the Palace of Justice, the Old Capitol Theatre, the Tudor Chambers and more.

Pretoria has a lot to offer to visitors who love outdoors, Pretoria is blessed with lots of natural beauty and has some quality Nature Reserves like the Groenkloof Nature Reserve, Austin Roberts Bird Sanctuary, Wonderboom Nature Reserve, Rietvlei Nature Reserve, Moreletaspruit Nature Reserve, Faerie Glen Nature Reserve and Wonderboom Nature Reserve.
