Bratislava
Bratislava is the capital and the largest city of Slovakia; the city lies in southwestern Slovakia and is also the political, cultural and economic hub of Slovakia. Bratislava is an old city with a long history; Bratislava is the only national capital in the world that borders two countries namely Austria and Hungary in fact it is only 60 kilometers away from Vienna; it is on the banks of river Danube. For visitors Bratislava has many attractions like castles, museums, theatres, galleries and more.

Bratislava Castle
The whole city of Bratislava is probably dominated by Bratislava Castle, the castle is closed for renovation until 2011, the castle is a massive rectangular building with four corner towers, the castle is situated on a rocky hill named Little Carpathians.

St. Martin's cathedral
St. Martin's cathedral is worth a visit, the construction started in the beginning of the 14th century and the church was consecrated in 1452; the cathedral is still in use today and is open to the public for visits.

Slavín
Slavín is the monument build in memory of Soviet casualties in the liberation battle of Bratislava in WW2, the place lies on the top of the hill behind the Bratislava castle, from here one can have a good view of the entire city.

Bratislava also has some beautiful churches like the St Clare's Church, Church of the Annunciation, Church of the Holy Savior, The Blue Church and more.
