Maputo
Maputo is the capital of Mozambique and was formerly known as Lourenco Marques, Maputo came into existence in the late 18th century and was named Lourenco Marques for Lourenco Marques a Portuguese trader, Maputo is a port city and its economy is centered around the harbor, the city is located on the west side of Maputo Bay, at the mouth of the Tembe River. For visitors there are Street cafes, vibrant markets, museum on Mozambique history, a military museum, Roman Catholic Cathedral of Our Lady of Fatima and an exotic night life.

The Jardim Tunduru is a very beautiful botanical garden, the garden lies in the heart of the city, the gardens were designed by Englishman Thomas Honney in the late 19th Century.
