Hania

Iraklio
Urban sophistication complete with traffic and roadside cafes are the talk of this capital city. It’s the base camp of every tourist, as it’s the connecting route to every place. Plateia Venizelou is the heart of the city and this square is a must visit for chic guides. And what more.. Say an archaeological museum is to be rampaged on by you.

Hania Old Town
Graphically stimulating is what sums this town. The Venetian lighthouse as also the naval museum is worth a look. Or just launder on the roofless mansions turned into ambient restaurants. Knossos
Down south of Iraklio, is the magnificent and beautiful palace of Knossos. Minoan frescoes and intricate column work is what deciphers this kingdom. Take a note of the drainage system, light wells, the porches and the verandas et al. |

Rethymnon and Agios Nikolaos
These two acclaimed cities are replicas of each other. Distinct characters, yet the same soul. Beaches like the Elounda beach set on the bottomless lake of Agios Nikolaos are a resort haven. So is Rethymnon a juggle between high-end resorts and the traditional harbor of old buildings. |

Samarian Gorge
Resonant ravines are what will echo when you think of your Crete. Just walk from Hania to Omalos to find the wooden staircase. On finding the Xiloskala – the staircase begin your journey downward amongst the flowering oleanders. Fascinate your senses as you trek your path to the deserted village of Samaria replete with uneven terrains. The gorge limits itself at the village of Agia Roumeli, where a plate full of shrimps will do you a lot of good. A handy cam view of this trek will keep one fresh forever and Crete alive.
