Hanover
Sweeping green edged with stately brick buildings that is Hanover for you. A budding university town in the Connecticut River Valley, it is New England’s British feeling. An Ivy League school which boasts of names who have made them not only proud, but are still loving it. Explore this town in nature’s lap by going out on strolls and reviving the magic of a love long lost. Mount Monadnock to the south is the most heavily visited peak in the area. The rocky, knobby summit offers scenic panoramas of lakes and hills, replete with modern day obstructions.

Enfield Shaker Museum
This cluster of historic buildings is situated on Lake Mascoma. Natively called, ‘The Chosen Vale.’ Today, much of the property is owned by either the state of New Hampshire or the museum. Standing upright is the Great Stone Dwelling, a granite structure, and the largest dwelling house in any of the Shaker communes. The museum acquired the stone building, and a new restaurant and inn opened to the public. The self-guided walking tour of the village is recommended. The feel is taken away by development along the lakeshores, although the scale and design of the structures are similar to the original village.
