Frankfurt's zoo is one of the best zoos in Europe, to observe nocturnal animals the zoo has Grzimek Haus, where artificial darkness is created in order to check the nocturnal animals going about their business. Wildlife can be watched from quite close in the Frankfurt Zoo

It was the ancient venue for election and coronation of the emperors, German emperors were crowned in the Cathedral of St Bartholomew, hence its other name – the Kaiserdom (Emperor Cathedral). The Cathedral has a tower which offers great views of the city, there is also a museum full of ancient archaeological findings joining the Cathedral.

Hidden away from the bustle of the centre the Palm Garden offers tropical and semitropical greenhouses contains flora, including orchids and palms, the garden includes glasshouses, rare plants, 300 different palms, exotic birds and a boating lake.
