Addis Ababa
Addis Ababa is the capital city of Ethiopia and the African Union it’s birth happened in the year 1887, Addis Ababa is also sometimes spelled as Addis Abeba, the word meaning of Addis Abeba means "new flower," Addis Ababa has the status of both a city and a state. Addis Ababa lies at the foot of Mount Entoto, and is home to Addis Ababa University, the city is situated in the foothills of the Entoto Mountains and is standing 2,400 meters above sea level.

Africa Hall
Africa Hall is a symbol of African independence and optimism. It houses the headquarters of the UN Economic Commission for Africa. The Africa Hall is situated on Menelik 11 Avenue, also the Filwoha springs are just to the west of the Africa Hall.

St George's Cathedral
St George's Cathedral was built in the year 1896, it lies at the north end of Churchill Road, the Cathedral houses the work of Afewerk Tekle, the renowned Ethiopian artist. There is also a small museum in the compound of the cathedral.

The Menelik Mausoleum
The Menelik Mausoleum was built in the year 1941 it used to serve as the tombs of emperors and the princes. |

Haile Selassie's Grand palace
Haile Selassie's ruled Ethiopia for 45 years and his Grand palace is located north east of Churchill Avenue. |

National Museum
The small National Museum has an extensive collection of artifacts, some predating the Axumite civilization of Tigre, the museum is located just north of St Mary's Church.

Menelik II Square
Menelik II Square is located outside the main gates of St. George Cathedral, in the square stands the statue of Emperor Menelik II, the statue was erected by Emperor Haile Selassie.

Sidist Kilo
The Yekatit 12 Square (Sidist Kilo) monument stands in tribute to the thousands of innocent martyrs butchered by the Italians in the year 1936.

The Lion of Judah Monument
The Lion of Judah Monument is a golden colored statue of the Lion of Judah which stands in the square in front of Addis Ababa's train station. The Lion of Judah statue was erected in 1930 just before Emperor Haile Selassie's coronation.

Mercato is one of the largest markets in Africa, it is located in western Addis Ababa, one can buy costumes, produce, jewelry and more here. One can buy near about anything in Mercato.
