Asmara
Asmara is the capital city of Eritrea, it was formerly known as Asmera, Asmara is an Italian built colonial city, its origins actually reach back some 700 years. Asmara was made the capital city of colonial Eritrea in 1897. Asmara is possibly the safest African capital for travelers though not 100% safe. It is one of the cleanest cities in Africa. The streets are elegantly lined with palms and a string of boutiques.

Cathedral of Asmara
The cathedral is a large Romanesque style cathedral in the centre of the city. The building was consecrated in 1922 and it took six years to construct the cathedral.

Synagogue of Asmara
Synagogue of Asmara is the only surviving remnant of the once Jewish community in the country of Eritrea. It includes a Jewish cemetery, classrooms and a main sanctuary.

Al Khulafa Al Rashiudin Mosque
Al Khulafa Al Rashiudin Mosque is easily one of the most important religious sites in Eritrea, it is also one of the major tourist attractions and religious places in the city of Asmara. The palatial mosque was built some sixty-nine years ago in the year 1938.

Sembel Archaeological Site is a good place to learn ancient Eritrean history, the site is located in the outskirts of the Asmara city, the site was probably an ancient village with marvelous construction plans.
