Santo Domingo
Santo Domingo is also known as Santo Domingo de Guzman, it is the capital and largest city in the Dominican Republic. In the year 1930, the city of Santo Domingo was almost completely demolished by a tropical hurricane called San Zenon. This colonial town was founded in 1498.

Alcazar de Colon is a palace which was built in 1517, in 1770 the building was abandoned. Attempts were made to turn it into a prison, the palace has 40-inch-thick coral-limestone walls.
