Nicosia

Nicosia is the capital of Cyprus and by far the largest city on the island. It is the administrative and financial hub of the island, Nicosia is locally known as Lefkosia, the city is located on the Pedieos river, Nicosia is a modern, dynamic capital with lots of shops, shopping malls and restaurants.

Museums

There are many museums in Nicosia where one can experience the history and culture of Cyprus, some of the famous ones are Cyprus Museum, Byzantine Museum, The National Struggle Museum, Museum of the History of Cypriot Coinage and Ledra Observatory Museum.

House of the Dragoman Hadjigeorgakis Kornesios

The House of the Dragoman Hadjigeorgakis Kornesios is a beautifully restored 18th-century building now housing an ethnological museum.

Nicosia Municipal Arts Centre

Nicosia Municipal Arts Centre is a converted old power station built in 1936 but in 1994 onwards it has reopened as a contemporary art gallery.
