Rarotonga is the most populous island of Cook Islands, there are also some other 15 islands in the group which form Cook Islands, the chief town of Rarotonga is Avarua, Rarotonga is divided into 12 districts, the highest peak on the island above sea level is 2140 feet. The island is surrounded by a lagoon, one can indulge in scuba diving and other water sports on the islands, Rarotonga was one of the last of the Cook Islands to be visited by European ships and has always been a favorite of sailors and merchants. Rarotonga is typical getaway with palm trees, pristine beaches and more a perfect holiday destination.
