Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Santa Cruz de Tenerife
Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is the capital city of Gran Canaria. It is also the capital of the province of Las Palmas and co-capital of the autonomous community of the Canary Islands. It lies at the northeastern tip of the island, extending along the coast for a distance of some 14km, Las Palmas is by far the largest town in the Canary archipelago, Las Palmas was founded in 1478 with the name "Real de Las Palmas" by Juan Rejón. Today Las Palmas is a cosmopolitan city with a vibrant nightlife. It has three beaches and a sea port, There is good weather conditions all year round which make Gran Canaria a good destination. The island is considered one of the world’s best windsurfing, Gran Canaria is under protection as a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO. Tourism tends to be concentrated on the southern part of the island.

Monuments
There are plenty of historic monuments because of the rich history of the islands there are Castle, chateau, palaces, Town walls and more, On the west side of the Puerto de la Luz is the Castillo de la Luz, built in the 16th century to protect the town from pirate raids.

Cathedrals
There is Cathedral of Santa Ana in the Vegueta quarter, the oldest part of the town, the construction of this cathedral began in 1498, but work stopped in 1570, it was only completed in the late 18th and early 19th centuries.
