Angkor Wat

Angkor Wat or the Angkor temple is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is probably one of the best if not the best attractions of Siem Reap, the site was build by the Khmer civilization between 802 and 1220 AD and today it contains the magnificent remains of the Khmer civilization.

Psar Chaa - Old Market

Psar Chaa or the Old Market is a fun place to visit, it’s a great place to buy souvenirs and it has lots of vendor stalls, a good place for shopping but don’t forget to bargain.

Phnom Bakheng

Phnom Bakheng is a Hindu temple, the temple was constructed in the 9th century AD and it was the first major temple to be constructed in the Angkor area, the hilltop is also a good sunset destination offering a great view.

For all the bird watching enthusiasts there is a bird sanctuary near the Tonle Sap Lake, here one can observe many of different species of birds found in Siem Reap.
