Bobo-Dioulasso
Bobo-Dioulasso is the second largest in Burkina Faso. It is situated in the south-western part of the country, in the Houet province. The name Bobo-Dioulasso means literally, "home of the Jula-speaking Bobo,” The city is some 350 km (220 mi) from Ouagadougou. Bobo was founded as Sya in the fifteenth century. The city was occupied by the French in 1897, after which it grew around the Abidjan–Ouagadougou railway, there are many sightseeing destinations in Bobo-Dioulasso like a museum, a zoo, and a pottery market.
