Gaborone is the capital of Botswana, the city is named after Kgosi Gaborone a 18th century leader, Gaborone is a bustling, modern city and the seat of power for one of Africa's most successful economies. Gaborone is the capital of Botswana and located in the south of the country, near the border to South Africa. Gaborone has many busy shopping malls and interesting markets. There are also many a Restaurants and night clubs.

Mokolodi Wildlife Foundation was formed in 1991, Mokolodi Nature Reserve is on 30 square km of donated land outside Gaborone. |

Gaborone Dam is on the Notwane, now it has been developed as a tourist destination. Gaborone Dam is situated on the edge of the city, it is set among hills and dense bush and is the city's main water source.

Kgale Hill
Kgale Hill is Botswana's largest hill (at about 100m) and a climb up the hill is pretty pleasant, it provides a magnificent view over the city and surrounding areas. Kgale Hill is a prominent landmark in Gaborone and is seen across an expanse of grass and low bushes, It also offers some excellent birding opportunities. There are no guides, and there is no entrance fee to worry about.
