La Paz

La Paz is the capital city of Bolivia, La Paz is located high above the sea level, today La Paz is a vibrant city, growing and expanding in all directions. La Paz has a population of more than a million inhabitants.

Murillo Square

Murillo Square is dedicated to Don Pedro Domingo Murillo who headed the revolution of 1809, in the center of the square a monument for the martyr has been built, in the surroundings, there are also the Presidential Palace, the headquarters of the Congress of the Republic and the Cathedral on the Murillo Square.

Cathedral of Nuestra Senora de La Paz

Cathedral of Nuestra Senora de La Paz  was built in the year 1831. the cathedral is an impressive building and worth visiting, it is located in the Plaza Murillo nest to the Presidential Palace.

Temple and Convent of San Francisco

Temple and Convent of San Francisco construction dates back to the middle of the 16th century; but, in the 18th century, San Francisco had to be reconstructed because of some serious damage because of weather and other factors.

Market of Witches

Here one can purchase handmade products of great quality and items used for traditional remedies, capable to cure any ailment or illness, is offered in the very old streets of Sagarnaga and Linares.

Museums

There are a number of museums in La Paz, one can visit the Museum of Art in the Palace of the Counts of Arana, the Museum of Ethnography and Folclore, Museum House of Murillo and the Museum of Pre-Colombinan Precious Metals, these museums have a variety of exhibits for every kind of visitor.

Death Road (El Camino de la Muerte)

The Death Road is considered the world's most dangerous road, the road is 61 to 69 km long, one estimate is that 200-300 travelers were killed yearly along this road, this notorious mountain road is famous among mountain bikers.

Madidi National Park

Madidi National Park was created as such on September 21, 1995. With a surface area of 18,960 km2, it is located between the provinces of Franz Tamayo and Iturralde, this park near Bolivia's capital city protects a wide range of plant and animal life.
