Dhaka

Sonargaon

Sonargaon was a town which was the ancient capital of Bengal. Sonargaon can be found just to the south east of Dhaka off the Chittagong highway. After the crowds of Dhaka it feels like a peaceful haven. Long abandoned homes of rich Hindus and an old bridge and older mosque add a mysterious quality to the town.

Ahsan Manzil

Ahsan Manzil is situated on the banks of the Buriganga River, it was the official residential palace and seat of the Dhaka Nawab Family. The palace is now a museum construction on the palace begun in 1859 and was completed in 1872

Lalbagh Fort

Lalbagh Fort was built in 1678 AD by Prince Mohammad Azam, the fort was the scene of a bloody battle for the war of independence in 1857 when 260 Sepoys (high-caste Hindus) courageously revolted against an entire British army.

Bahadur Shah Park

Bahadur Shah Park is a war memorial built in 1857 as a tribute to the martyrs who fought in the first liberation war against British rule. It was here that the conflicting Sepoys and their civil compatriots were publicly hanged.

Bangladesh National Museum

The Bangladesh National Museum was established on 20 March 1913. Bangladesh National Museum is the biggest museum in Bangladesh with more than 83 thousand objects, the museum is well organized and displays have been housed in several departments like department of ethnography and decorative art, department of history and classical art, department of natural history, and department of contemporary and world civilization.

Liberation War Museum

The Liberation War Museum is a museum in Segunbagicha and is dedicated to the sacrifices of martyrs of Bangladesh Liberation War. It was inaugurated on 22 March 1996 in a two-storied old-sty1e building.

Dhaka Zoo

The Dhaka is a recreation of the wild and boasts many exotic animal, plant and bird species including the royal Bengal tiger, a good tourist spot if you are visiting Dhaka with kids.

Bara Katra

The Bara Katra is a palatial building dating to the reign of the Mughal dynasty a historical and architectural monument it is located in the city of Dhaka, it is situated to the south of Chawk Bazar close to the north bank of the river Buriganga.

Dhakeshwari National Temple

Dhakeshwari National Temple is a famous Hindu temple in Dhaka, it is Bangladesh's "National Temple". The name "Dhakeshwari" means "Goddess of Dhaka". The temple is located southwest of the Salimullah Hall of Dhaka University. Dhakeshwari National Temple is the important Hindu place of worship in Bangladesh.

Baitul Mukarram

Baitul Mukarram was founded in the 1960s it is the national mosque of Bangladesh. The mosque is located in the heart of Dhaka, the mosque is beautifully. Baitul Mukarram’s resemblance to the famous Ka'abah at Makkah makes this a unique mosque in Bangladesh.
