Baku

Baku is the capital and the largest city and the largest port of Azerbaijan, it is also known as Baky or Baki, Baku is located on the southern shore of the Absheron Peninsula, the city consists of two principal parts: the downtown and the old Inner City, Baku is divided into eleven administrative districts and 48 townships. Among these are the townships on islands in the Bay of Baku and the town of Oil Rocks built on stilts in the Caspian Sea, 60 km away from Baku.

Atesgah Fire Temple is built on the site of a natural gas vent believed to have been sacred to the Zoroastrians since the 6th century AD. Atashgah Temple is also known as the Temple of the Fire worshippers, has been a centre of worship for thousands of years. The name of the temple means 'home of fire'.

Palace of the Shirvanshah’s

Palace of the Shirvanshah’s is a unique display of Azerbaijan architecture, it is situated in the Inner City of Baku. The complex contains the main building of the palace, Divanhane, the burial-vaults, the shah's mosque with a minaret, Seyid Yahya Bakuvi's mausoleum, a portal in the east - Murad's gate, a reservoir and the remnants of the bath-house.

Maiden Tower

Maiden Tower is a tower in Old City, the Maidens' Tower was added to UNESCO is World Heritage in 2000, along with the Walled City of Baku and the Shirvan Shahs' Palace old town Baku, Maiden Tower was originally built on the shore of the Caspian Sea. Due to land reclamation in the early 20th century the tower is now separated from the Caspian by a busy main road and public gardens.
