Travel to Taiwan

 

The island of Taiwan is a very popular travel destination for both business travelers and tourists. Taiwan is situated approximately 2,800 kilometers from Guam It is located at a strategic point on the north-south sea of China and the communications hub of West Pacific shipping line. Taiwan has prominent and booming industrial sector along with its ancient culture. Although Taiwan is less than 14,000 square miles in area, it is home to over 22 million people. Taiwan is surrounded by seas in all sides and is embraced by the Pacific Ocean. Temperate and humid maritime climate zone is in the main climate of maximum region of Taiwan, so it has neither severe winter nor has it intense heat of summer. The forests remain verdant luxuriantly green and the flowers blossom in all seasons. Taiwan is also characterized by abundant rainfall and violent typhoon.

 

 

Taipei the capital of Taiwan is situated at the center of the Taipei Basin on the right bank of Danshui River. It is the largest city of Taiwan and is the political, economic, cultural and educational hub of Taiwan. Taipei is the center of tourism having the Yang Ming Mountain and Peitou Picturesque Scenic Spot as its top attractions. Also there is The Taipei Park, which is the biggest and the oldest park with a total area of 89 thousand square meters and the biggest wood-fenced zoo in Taiwan. The main places of historical interest are the Taipei City Gate, the Long Shan Temple, Bao An Palace and Confucian Temple. There are also quite a few attractive items that can be bought in Taipei like the Sheng Da Zhuang Chinese brush, Shilin pocket knives, moulding picture, artistic pottery and porcelain.

The Alishan National Scenic Area is the most well-known scenic destination in Taiwan; the place has mountain wilderness, waterfalls, tea plantations, villages, the Alishan Forest Railway, hiking trails and more. The place also has Alishan or Mount Ali which is a major landmark in Taiwan. Also one should not miss the “Mystical Tree of Alishan” - a 3000 odd years old tree which has it’s main trunk broken, yet the branches on the top are green and verdant. The view of red and white oriental cherries all over the slopes of Alishan and sea of clouds giving a look that the earth is covered with cotton is also mesmerizing.

Then there is a beautiful sun observation tower on the terrace of the famous Zhu Mountain peak of Alishan. At the crack of dawn, if you ascend the tower in the midst of freshness of air, you will be able to see the grey outline of Yu Mountain far away and then suddenly it will be edged with golden glow when radiance increases all of a sudden. In addition to all this there is an abundance of hot springs in Taiwan and the usual tourist activities like snorkeling, surfing, sailing and canoeing are available along with activities like hiking and mountaineering.
