Alaska is the largest state of United State of America in area terms. The Lands in Alaska lie mostly in the Artic Circle and the place also has mountains as high as the Himalayas. Alaska is sometimes called as the ice-paradise on Earth. The magic of this arctic land has attracted tourists since long. Alaska is a great destination for adventure tourism. Many cities in Alaska are accessible only by air or water. Summer is the best season to visit Alaska. The cities of Anchorage, Seward, Juneau and Fairbanks are the main tourist destinations of the state. The state capital Juneau is accessible only through air or water and major air carriers fly in to Juneau, Anchorage and Fairbanks. Also Cruise ships make stops in Juneau and in Seward.

 

 

The cruise trip to Alaska is truly a memorable one as these are many beautiful coastal cities that you can view on your way around Alaska. The view from the deck of a ship is awesome and one is unlikely to forget it for a long time. After disembarking from the cruise ship you can rent a car or motor home for your Alaskan vacation. You will find road condition in general quite good. The highway between Anchorage and Seward is one of the most spectacular drives in North America. The drive between Anchorage and Denali National Park is also a comfortable one. Denali National Park is Alaska’s most famous destination.  Visitors in summer can also enjoy Denali State Park, the museums in Fairbanks and the town of Talkeetna.  A trip across the incredibly scenic Denali Highway should also not to be missed.

Alaskan wildlife as well as Alaskan forests are famous the world over. Glaciers and icebergs found in Alaska cannot be found anywhere else. Visiting Alaska can also be a peaceful and relaxing experience. The majestic mountains of Alaska are also not to be missed.  The incredible view can only be experience and not really defined or experienced by any photograph. The southeast Alaska also presents spectacular scenery. In addition to the state capital Juneau, the towns of Ketchikan, Sitka, and Wrangell are also located here. You have many sights to see her like the Anan Creek Wildlife Observatory and Admiralty Island National Monument.  Glacier Bay National Park and Juneau Ice field offer incredible views and vistas.  The Tongass National Forest and Prince of Wales Island are two other popular spots for visitors.

Anchorage also has many tourist attractions like the Smuggler’s Cove and Turnagain.  One can see quite a few exhibits on Alaskan history and Native American culture at the Anchorage Museum of History and Art.  The Imaginarium is very popular with kids who love science, while adults can visit the 4th Avenue Theater designed in Art Deco style.  The Alaska Native Heritage Center, the Alaska Zoo and the Independence Mine State Historical Park are also popular places to visit.  Visitors who are interested in theater or concerts can visit the Alaska Center for Performing Arts, which hold opera, Dance Theater, and concert performances.
