Tour to Amsterdam

Amsterdam is probably one of the greatest small cities on the planet. One can find everything in Amsterdam like the canals, world-famous museums and other historical sights, naturally Amsterdam is also known to be one of the most romantic and beautiful cities in Europe.  In addition to that it is a city of tolerance and diversity; it has all the advantages of a big city: great culture, entertainment, international restaurants and transport, but all this without the hassles of a big city. In Amsterdam any destination is never far away because it is a relatively small, quiet and has a less road traffic largely thanks to its canals.

Amsterdam is a treasure trove for people who love architecture and old buildings and is probably the most important intact historical city in the world, Amsterdam is still retains it’s un-spoilt heritage. The distinct character of the city is its canal houses which dominate the cityscape, the canals are connected by over 400 bridges which dominate the architecture of the city. These canal houses were built as residences for the rich, one very prominent feature of these mansions is their tall facades and a rich globe on top of it.

For the nature lover there is always something in Amsterdam like the botanical gardens. The botanical garden in Amsterdam was established in the 17th century and today is still a nice, green and relaxing place to spend some time; the garden is situated in an area with small parks and 18th century houses. The new-built greenhouse has a complex architecture; it was build after a heavy storm destroyed the old greenhouse. The modern greenhouse has a hanging roof. A bridge has been constructed to walk high above the ground. One can have a splendid view over the ‘cold climate’-section. In the new greenhouse many little water streams give together a humid atmosphere, necessary for the plants. There is even a desert-section in the new greenhouse of the botanical garden.

Fancy a sunny day out at the beach? Well, if you’re in Amsterdam, you don’t have to travel out to Zandvoort or Bloemendaal any more. Amsterdam is also quite well-off in the trendy beaches sector. Beaches like Blijburg, Amsterdam Plage and the brand-new Strand West are all in Amsterdam itself. Apart from beaches Amsterdam also has other amazing places where one can kick back and sunbathe during summer without getting so much as a grain of sand between the toes.

Amsterdam also has the only floating flower market in the world, and one of the most fragrant places of interest during all seasons. The flower stalls stand on the houseboats. One can find there all sorts of tulips, narcissus and other bulbs and flowers. Here one can enjoy the beautiful scene and scents of Amsterdam. Also no matter whether one travels on business or leisure there are plenty of accommodations and hotels in Amsterdam. From cheap hotels to luxury accommodation one can find everything. The choice is unlimited in Amsterdam.
