A bird watching trip can be taken in one’s neighborhood or many a times people are willing to travel long distances to track and watch the bird that the desire to see in their natural habitat. The most common technique to do bird watching is to head to a water source in a reserve or forest with binoculars and wait for the birds to arrive. One can study these birds and their behavior to learn more about them by observing them. Although bird watching can be done in one’s backyard, there are few countries where one can head to for some bird watching namely:
Tanzania
Tanzania is one of the best destinations for bird watching on the planet. There are over 1,038 species of bird here like parrots, starlings, Raptors, turacos, weavers, pipits, plovers, bee-eaters, sunbirds, barbets and more. Tanzania is one of the hot destinations for bird watching as there are abundance of places where the same can be done like Mount Kenya, Mount Ruwenzori mountains, forests in Mkomazi Umba Game Reserve, Zanzibar Island, Victoria falls, Gombe Stream and Kruger National Park.
South Africa
Another quality destination for bird watching is South Africa. The region between Hluhuwe Game Reserve and Kruger Park contains more than 700 species of birds. One can find many local and migratory birds in this area. The government of South Africa offers a variety of bird watching trips in this region.
India
India becomes home to more than 1,200 species of migratory birds every year and these numbers make India as a great destination for bird watching. The best place in India to do some bird watching is Kaziranga National Park which is home to migratory birds like Goose, Asian Openbill Stork, Baer's Pochard duck, Ferruginous Duck and more.
Iceland
Iceland is breeding grounds for many bird species. There are nearly 241 species of birds in Iceland including local species and migratory ones. Sea birds, waterfowl and waders are habitat of Iceland other than that one can find a number of other species of bird here. Lake Mývatn, Snæfellsnes peninsula and Reykjanes peninsula and the Westman Islands are the best destinations for bird watching in Iceland.
Other countries that are great for bird watching are Cost Rica, Bulgaria, Spain, US and more.
