Holidays in Cyprus

A holiday in Cyprus provides one with an exciting time. There are beaches, resorts, boat rides, bars and restaurants in Cyprus to enjoy; there are many places in Cyprus which are on off beat track but still quite near to the main attractions. Once one discovers these places one won’t be able to resist them and would like to visit them again and again. The “Island of Love” is one such destination; it is a breathtaking place to visit or even to make your holiday home. Cyprus villages are known for their scenic views, adventurous nature trails and exotic wildlife, while at the same time being a place for rest and relaxation. The contrast in a village life and the usual holiday resort is sharp. Being away from the coast but still near enough to visit it any time is the beauty of Cyprus villages.

Peyia is a very large village tucked away in the hills about 3.5 kms from the Coral Bay and 15 kms from Paphos. One can relax in the several coffee shops here or enjoy excellent food in the welcoming taverna. One might even get to prepare special dishes if one likes though one have to inform in advance. Enjoy a picturesque drive through the Peyia forest and pretty villages and you will reach Akamas peninsula and Latchi's beaches, giving the possibility of countless memorable days out.

Episkopi is a short drive from Limassol and only 40 minutes drive from Paphos; it is on a five minute drive from Curium beach. One can visit the Troodos Mountains and enjoy the beauty and convenience of the Secret Valley and Aphrodite Hills Golf Courses. Here one has access to many major attractions, at the same time living in peace and quiet of village life is there to enjoy. Another destination is Kathikas; it is a historical village around 22 kms away form Paphos. It is still one of the most attractive villages of the area, well known for its beautiful vineyards.

Polis is one of the few places that haven't totally succumbed to the lure over development; Polis is on the wide Hrysohou Bay and is ideally situated for holidays that actually leave you time to rest and relax. One can go trekking in the Akamas from here, swim at a number of nearby beaches, tour the wine-making villages of the Akamas Heights or just explore the wild Cyprus.

Ayia Marina & Argaka are two villages approximately 5 minutes drive apart on the way to Pomos Point. One can see some dams here, where fishing (under license) may be possible. There is an abundance of fruit trees including figs, grapes, prickly pears, apples, oranges and lemons here. There are also some extensive good beaches in the area.
