Tuscany is situated on Tyrrhenian Sea so it has great beaches on one side and yet is also surrounded my magnificent countryside on the other.

Tuscany is divided into different regions; a famous region is the Chianti Classico which has the distinction of being the producer of world famous wine Chianti, This wine is exported world wide and hence the area is full of vineyards. The vineyards are surrounded by small towns, castles and villas.  To get the best of visiting this area it is advisable to stay in “agritourism”, it means staying on a farm or vineyard in a spare room, apartment or additional housing area which is rented out by farmers to supplement their income. Many of these are well established and offer the additional facilities a hotel may have, such as a swimming pool. If you are staying within the main accommodation with the family, your meals may well be included and you can be sure of a fantastic home cooked Italian feast every day of your stay. However in self contained accommodation you will have the facility of cooking your own meal.

A major landmark is the bell Tower of Cathedral in Pisa also known as the Tower of Pisa. Its construction started in 1173 and as the tower was situated on soft ground it started leaning during construction, hence the name The Leaning Tower of Pisa. The Tower was inaugurated again in 2001 after extensive repairs and now it has a 300 steps winding up narrow staircase to reach the top of the Tower. In Florence you will find the world renowned Uffizi Gallery. Many masterpieces by artists like Giotto, Lippi, Leonardo, Michaelangelo, Tiziano, Filippo, Rubens, Caravaggio and other famous painters are displayed here.

Another world famous destination in Tuscany is Rome. Its main attraction is the Colosseum which is famous for the gladiator flights. It was inaugurated in 80 A.D. by emperor Vespasiano. The magnificent structured can be seen on a tour now also. The Vatican City in Rome is world famous for the Vatican Museum, the Sistine Chapel and Vatican Gardens. There is also present the St. Peter’s Basilica and St. Peter’s Square. During the summer season another popular tourist spot in Italy is the Piazza Di Spagna.  Also known as the Spanish Steps, this is a series of steps with Fontana Della Barcaccia fountain in the bottom and Trinita’ dei Monti church above. The trip to Tuscany can be a memory of lifetime if these above mentioned locations are visited.
