English Harbour was developed as a base for the British Navy and is focused on the fifteen square miles of historic district, English Harbour lies in the extreme south of the island and is a centre of boating, especially yachting today, although English Harbour is best known for Nelson's Dockyard but also has other attractions such as Clarence House, Lookout Trail, Dow's Hill Interpretation Center and more.
